Shakespearian Assasin

Prologue
Jesse pulled up in the drive way and got out with the groceries, it was another tiring day at work, he was looking forward to his casual leave so as to have more time around his family, he had a son and was a expecting a daughter in some weeks and he knew he needed more than time to be a wonderful father. As Jesse walked towards the porch, he noticed the house had been broken into, he immediately drew out his pistol and radioed for backup and went into the house with every precaution he had learnt as a police officer, he prayed nothing bad had befallen his family and started cursing his luck for coming back later than normal, he was now approaching the living room, the television set was on but his son was not there neither was his wife but the parlor was in disarray the blood stains on the wall confirming the worst in his mind, his family was under attack. He took off his shoes so as not to make a sound as he climbed the stairs to check the bedroom, the rooms were clear, there was only one place they could be now the pent house, with every caution he approached the door knob and fastened his grip on the gun and wondering where his backup was. His mind went to and fro wondering who had planned to attack his family, it was his worst nightmare, he had enrolled his wife for karate classes but she would be helpless now as she was pregnant. God he hated himself for been stupid for letting his guard down, he leaned against the door to get a mental picture of what was awaiting him. He could pick five different voices, he made up his mind to surrender and save his family any bloodshed, he opened the door and showed his sign of cooperation, it was then he noticed he was up against assassins’ not armed robbers, and the he was knocked out. Jesse was still dizzy when he opened his eyes, “hey listen to me, you should have accepted the deal, but no, you want to be a good boy, the coup will still go on, and you won't be around to save the day, now watch me, tear your world apart”. Dad don’t worry you are my hero and before he could reply his son was shot, a loud cry was all Jesse and Martha could give. “Hey Jesse, greetings from the King”, Martha was shot twice, Jesse still trying to cut loose, felt really helpless, "why didn’t you just kill me for not collaborating why go after my family". “It’s a game and we have rules, if you don’t assist us you lose everything including your life" said his assiliant. It’s nothing personal. Goodbye Jess”.

Why do I write?

Why do I write?
I write to express myself,
All my write ups bear their own cross,
A cross that depicts a summation of my current emotions,
I write to let out my inner cravings and feelings,
When I see paper and a pen my fingers twitch,
My mind opens up, to accept ideas,
Every word, song even noise becomes music
In my mind, and my hand plays out the melody I feel,
As a write up

Why do I write?
I write to be myself,
It’s like the main purpose of my existence,
Writing is like the key,
God gave to save me from trouble,
If I didn’t write, then I don’t know,
What would have happened to me
Writing is my heartbeat,
It’s involuntary,
I can’t stop it neither can I help it
Instead it helps me,
It propels me to do the impossible,
In truth, writing saved me,
I’m more myself when I write,
Some people learn to write
But I was born to do this,
I was born to write,
That’s why I write.

WHO’S FAULT?
Over-Population
Looking around we have seen all sorts of things, in this our lives, enough to write books on, the other day I watch as a drama unfolded between a bus conductor and an Agbero boy (Pardon me if I spelt wrongly), as I sat uncomfortable in the Bus waiting for the traffic to clear-up. Shortly after that I tuned my radio and started listening on a radio program as the above topic was trashed. During some people called in and blamed the issue on government others blamed it on Illiteracy, some linked in the level of illiteracy to the government and others blamed it on culture (Easterners to be specific) others on religion (Muslims to be specific).

Now I pose this same question to you, but before I let you jump in on these, here my taught process, with these two Interviews.

Onyekachi is the tenth son of his father, his father is married to his mother and they both have twelve children 9 girls and 3 boys, according to Onyekachi, His father is a truck driver while his mother sells vegetable in Yaba Market, His Dad income is around 25,000 naira, while its what the mother makes daily that she brings to the table. In pursuit to have a son, Onyeka’s Dad brought nine girls into this world and then when the male child came, three of them came at once.

Jamiu on the other hand comes from an Islamic background, his dad has three wives and sixteen children and the second wife is expecting another one, his father carries load in Mile 12 market, his 1st wife is a tailor and a caterer, the 2nd is a Hair dresser and the 3rd wife is a petty trader.

For me I would blame the government on the basis of reducing the sensitization on Family Support Program (F.S.P), during the early 90’s the adverts where on air every time, while the posters where all around, condoms then where used as a way of advertising birth-control (these days they are used for safe sex). On this base I would blame the government on reducing there campaign on birth control.

But I would never blame anything on culture, illiteracy especially Religion, you may question my judgment, and here are my reasons.
In Islam, you are entitled to expand your territory, only if you can handle the cost (paraphrased), so why blame religion.
Now culture, I understand the need for a male child only when there is some thing to pass down to your lineage, but when your male child is not coming forth why not give it to the females. STOP DEGRADING THE FEMALES & SAVE YOURSELF SOME TROBULE.
Now Illiteracy has being blamed on so many things but over population should never be on the list. Sighting one of the above examples, I have never seen in my little life when 25, 000 naira sorted a man’s problem, not to now add His wife to the list and then join TWELVE children, that is not ILLITERACY It’s pure WICKEDNESS to the Children and to the Wife.

These children are born and they start competing from day one, this might lead to abandoning the children another act of wickedness. This in turn leads the child taking out his anger on innocent citizens. Now am not advocating for the street urchins but the truth needs to be said.

In conclusion, I am not saying there are no other examples, but hey that’s why I am asking the question,
Who is to Blame, for the Over Population, Religion, Government, Culture, Illiteracy or Man’s Wickedness?
